Herb’s Heroes purpose as an organization is to assist in providing presents for kids in our local area. Within all the festivities that come with the holidays, it’s easy to forget how many families struggle to put gifts under the tree. The inspiration that fuels this organization is to give struggling families a magical Christmas.
Herb’s Heroes is a nonprofit organization founded in honor of Herb Jones. Herb Jones was a beloved husband to his high school sweetheart, a Vietnam vet, father of two, and grandfather to four kids that only knew him as “papaw”. He carried himself like a feather, light-hearted, making a joke anytime he could. Herb Jones was simply the epitome of light, love, and kindness. Every human encounter was treated as if he was speaking to his best friend, even if you were just a cashier that he only shared a few minutes with. Effort was always put forth to make you smile, laugh, or feel heard. He left a mark on so many people because of that. Herb’s Heroes honors him by aspiring to do what he did best, spread light, love, and kindness.
